The Hawaiian Luau Dinner Show at Horsepower Ranch runs outdoors, on a working ranch about 30 minutes from downtown Orlando. You park on the property and walk in under market lighting strung between the oaks, Spanish moss hanging over the path, while live Hawaiian musicians play and someone hands you a lei and a welcome drink. Aloha Productions Luau Ohana brings the performers and the island buffet. The ranch brings what the performers cannot travel with: pastures, oak canopies, and horses close enough to be part of the view from your table. Anyone flying in lands at MCO and drives out from there.

Seating opens at 5:00, and the evening runs on a clock rather than drifting. Group hula lessons for ladies and children start at 5:45. The tropical buffet opens at 6:00. At 6:30 the Hawaiian Luau Dinner Show itself begins: hula from Hawaii, songs and traditional dances of Tahiti, the Haka chants of New Zealand, and fire dance from Samoa. Photos with the performers happen at 7:45, and the night ends at 8:00, which is 3 hours start to finish and early enough that a school night survives it. Because the Hawaiian Luau Dinner Show is staged outdoors, the light shifts across the evening, and the fire dance closes it out under the ranch’s market lighting.
